Below walnut scroll saw cutting was designed by Sylvia Mendiola (Jr_Ranger)and cut/mailed by his long-time friend John Nelson (keystone-cop), to Pappy's wife on behalf of our MSN Group "Absolutely Free Scroll Saw Patterns" (AFSP).  Pappy was a great contributor to our group and weekly chat sessions.  He promised he had a grass skirt and coconuts waiting for Sylvia if she ever made it over to Hawaii.  Thanks Sylvia and John, we appreciate it so much.

Pappy was a retired Navy Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-8) who served our great nation for 26 faithful years.  Thank you Pappy, for your service and sacrifices during those years.  I salute you, and wish you smooth waters and safe travels.

Here's one of Pappy's cuttings of an enlisted U.S. Submarine Badge  pattern that was designed by John:

Pappy was the first person to cut this pattern of mine:

Aloha Pappy, we will miss you.

The Submarine Verse of the Navy Hymn

"Bless those who serve beneath the deep,
Through lonely hours their vigil keep.
May peace their mission ever be,
Protect each one we ask of thee.
Bless those at home who wait and pray,
For their return by night or day."

-Rev. Gale Williamson
